Job Description:

  • The Head of Brands Communication and Business Development will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will have a key role in overseeing, promoting, and supporting the company’s brand and reputation. This will involve providing a wide range of marketing and communications services to both internal and external stakeholders, including current and prospective clients, employees, regulatory bodies, media, and the communities in which the company operates.
  • Additionally, the Head of Brands Communication will be responsible for advising on marketing direction, and actively participating in the organization’s strategic planning, brand management, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a long-term communication strategy, create an annual commercial calendar plan, and collaborate with management on marketing-related issues.
  • Plan and execute media campaigns, advertising, and various public relations initiatives across print, online, and social media platforms.
  • Take charge of designing and producing media content.
  • Formulate, gain necessary approvals for, and execute public relations strategies. Manage communications with external agencies and develop media marketing strategies and non-campaign activities.
  • Offer strategic guidance and direction for the brand, produce brand guides/manuals and communication materials, and develop non-campaign brands while aligning with the company’s vision, mission, and objectives. Provide advice on issues relevant to the company for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on initiatives related to Business Development, PR, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Conduct marketing research to support various projects and stay updated on the latest industry trends and guidelines.
  • Oversee corporate communications and branding on various online and print platforms, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines. Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure the company’s websites are maintained and updated with relevant information.
  • Develop a clear crisis communication policy for guidance when needed.
  • Foster positive professional relationships with members of the media.
  • Develop, implement, and adhere to the brands and communications budget.
  • Create, draft, distribute, and implement policies to enhance departmental efficiency and further develop a positive brand image.
  • Participate in planning external and internal events, conferences es, and fairs, and coordinate activities as directed by management.
  • Develop business cases to enhance brand recognition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Communication/Marketing and certification with IPR, GJA, and/or CIM-Ghana/UK.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to achieve results through team management.
  • Proactive, willing, and an effective communicator.
  • Proficiency in Marketing and Communications, with an understanding of Finance.
  • Relevant experience in Marketing, PR, and Communications.
  • Preference is given to candidates with experience in Financial Services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
